This research was conducted at the Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Center (BADC) Jepara in August 2010. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect bean sprouts extract medium on the growth of Skeletonema costatum and assess the the optimal concentration bean sprouts extract medium on the growth of Skeletonema costatum. The method used is to experiment with the technique of direct observation data collection. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment is the concentration of different bean sprouts extract medium from each container cultivation, namely treatment with concentration BSE 0%, 1% BSE, BSE 2%, 3% BSE, BSE BSE 4% and BSE 5%. The results showed that the concentration of extract medium sprouts very significant to the growth of Skeletonema costatum. Based on these results, the optimal concentration (best) for the cultivation of Skeletonema costatum was the BSE 4%.
